UK Super One Series Announces Title Sponsor

press release

The Super One Series promoters are proud to welcome Ginetta Cars on board in an exciting partnership for the 2011 series.

Marketing director John Hoyle said: “All of us in Super One are exhilarated with the opportunities that can come of this partnership, both in raising the profile of what is Britain’s biggest and best karting championship, and for our drivers’ future career paths.”

160 drivers have signed up the ‘MSA’ series, which hosts the MSA British Kart Championships as well as the Comer Cadets, the brand new Super Cadets and the new class with the fastest ever growth, Formula KGP -  commencing at PF International on 19/20 March.  Over 200 drivers have signed up for the ever popular Rotax Series, the series now including over 30 drivers in Honda Cadet – commencing 12/13 March at Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire.

The Yorkshire-based Ginetta Cars is a major player on the motorsport scene in the UK and abroad. Its three single-make Championships are renowned for their entertaining close racing which provides opportunities from the novice through to professional level.  These championships have provided a vital stepping stone on the ladder of success for many Super One graduates, and that path will be made easier because of this partnership.

Multi marque racing begins between the ages of 14 and 17 in the Ginetta Junior through to senior level with the ever popular, exciting and affordable G20 Championship. Top of the range racing starts at GT level with the G50, GT4 and G50.  Lawrence Tomlinson has woven motorsport into every facet of the business since he purchased the company.

Stewart Linn, Ginetta Championships Manager, said: “The Super One series provides the best karting championships in the UK and has generated top line drivers for many years. The partnership with Super One makes perfect sense as many of their drivers are now choosing to race Ginettas after karts because our championships are a genuine step on the motorsport ladder. We’re proud to be sponsoring the series for 2011 and will be working hard with the Super One organisers to promote karting as the primary route into motorsport.“  Prizes courtesy of Ginetta will be on offer at every round.

John Hoyle added: “Of course we don’t expect, and neither do we wish, every one of our drivers to progress to cars, but we must recognise the aspirations of our younger competitors and give them the opportunities.  Super One caters for all ages of drivers, and will continue to do so.”
