Intrepid Drivers Dominating Rotax Rankings

press release

The distinctive orange chassis and falcon of Intrepid continues to deliver impressive results at Pro Tour 2 Dubbo putting Intrepid drivers at the top of the Rotax Rankings.

In the updated Rotax Rankings released on Monday, Intrepid holds top positions in both Rotax Light and Heavy classes.  Young stars Tyler Greenbury (KAOS Karting, Qld) and Josh De Maio (CC Racing, Vic) hold positions 1 and 2 in Rotax Light.

In Rotax Heavy, Intrepid drivers hold 3 of the top 4 places and have resorted to fighting amongst themselves for podium finishes at major race events.

The new blue Arrow X1-E of Brendan Nelson (KAOS Karting, Qld) is the only one spoiling the Intrepid party taking out the top spot in Rotax Heavy Rankings.  Hot on his heels are the Intrepid drivers of Paul Rodgers in 2nd (CC Racing, Vic), Lane Moore (KAOS Karting, Qld) in 3rd and Troy Woolston (CC Racing, Vic) in 4th.

At Rotax Pro Tour stop 2, held at Dubbo Kart Club over the weekend, it was Intrepid all the way in Rotax Heavy with the boys taking out 1, 2, 3 and closely missed taking out all top 4 spots with Danny Wright finishing at 5th.

Troy Woolston was the man to beat in Rotax Heavy, qualifying on pole and clean sweeping the heats and pre-finals.  CC Racing teammate, Paul Rodgers and Lane Moore gave him plenty of competition across the weekend.

In the first qualifying Rodgers and Woolston were standout performers with Moore coming out in the 2nd Qualifier and putting down fast track times and getting within striking distance of Rodgers.

Rodgers drove well all weekend and in the Final he showed great kart pace and threatened Woolston as did Moore who spent time in 2nd place.  Intrepid dealer for Albury, Danny (Wrighty) Wright from Full Tilt Karts just missed taking out the top 4, settling for 5th place.

Lane Moore heads back to New Zealand this weekend to compete in Rotax Max Challenge round 3 at the Bay of Plenty Kart Club, Te Puke, after winning round 1 in February.

In Rotax Light, former Tony Kart driver Tyler Greenbury continued to come to grips with his new Intrepid and drove with determination all weekend to finish in 2nd place.

Bad luck and race incidents marred the event for the other four Intrepid Drivers with Josh Dorn (KAOS Karting, Qld) finishing his first Pro Tour event at 19th, Brittany Smith (CC Racing, Vic) in 22nd, new Intrepid driver Shay Mayes (KAOS Karting, Qld) and Josh De Maio (CC Racing, Vic) on DNF.

Intrepid Australia is stoked with the on-track combination of Australia’s leading drivers with the world class Italian kart and looking forward to more podiums for the remaining rounds of the Rotax Pro Tour.
