press release

With SA having a great turn out for the second round of Festival State Cup, racing was going to be tough. With the day starting out overcast and cold, setup was critical.

Heat 1
David Franze and David Brewer win their races with Andrew Cash and Josh Angus finishing in the placings. Clubman Heavy and C040 series leader Errol Hussein had a weekend to forget with multiple DNF’s in both classes. Peter Zacharia Struggled with the conditions and in the star studded Clubman Light field it was always going to be tough. Andrew Harpas showed glimpses of speed and will be challenging for podiums in the near future.  Leigh Cocker started his campaign like the last round with a DNF in Clubman Heavy, victim of someone else’s accident.

Heat 2
Saw DNF’s for David Brewer and Errol Hussein. David Franze, in only his 2nd meeting back, drove his kart from the rear of a massive 125-Light grid in a fashion seen by likes of the great Reif Corbett or Ben savage to finish 3rd. Josh Angus had his DR Sports Max on rails only to be pipped by a mechanical failure on the last lap. Andrew Cash never seemed troubled to take a convincing win and fellow team Driver Leigh Cocker come home in second in Clubman Heavy.

Heat 3
Started the way heat 2 finished with Andrew Cash and David Franze continuing there dominance. Leigh Cocker was charging hard in his Clubman Heavy race to finish second.  Andrew Harpas and Peter Zacharia put in a solid effort in Clubman Light, whilst Josh Angus was consistently challenging for the lead only to lose it with a lap to go.

Heat 4
Fellow Adrenaline team members Leigh Cocker and Andrew Cash had the race of the day with some hard fought battles and passing moves. Fair, clean racing proved a mutual respect by both competitors. Andrew got the upper hand with his Sports Max chassis crossing the line just ahead of Leigh's Arrow.

David Franze had to fend off a hard charging Ross Miller but the DR M92 came on strong in the final laps to continue its unbeaten record in this category at the Festival State Cup.

Josh Angus had the start of his life and showed good speed early only to fall short at the wrong time to finish second. Andrew and Peter also finished strongly just outside the placings in the final of Clubman light.
