A1 Engines Gold at Cooloola

A1 Engines Junior National Light driver Jake Downs, competed at the annual Cooloola Junior Gold meet on the weekend where he topped the podium.

After qualifying on pole, Jake did not have it all his own way with some close racing early on with Lachlan McHugh and Chris Burley, and rainfall in the 2 and 3 heats.

Even though Downs found himself back in position 5 for the final, it was Downs, McHugh and Burley battling for 1st position. Jake came from behind the pair to have a last lap battle with McHugh and took home the checked flag.
