Golden Power Series Opener

The 2011 Golden Power Series kicked off at the Rochester kart track on April 2/3 with fine sunny weather all weekend. There were 254 entries over 14 classes which is a fantastic following for this great series.

The series incorporates Leopard Light and Leopard Heavy as part of the IAME 125/Leopard quailifying for the Australian Final to be held in South Australia later in the year.

"The racing over the weekend was very good with large entries in all classes" Graeme Monds informed KartSportNews. "We've managed to recieve good support from 18 valueable sponsors to the approximate amount of $50,000 for this year's lucky draw prizes. This will be held in conjunction with the spit roast at Puckapunyal."

The next round of the series is at the Gippsland circuit in Morwell on May 7-8. Competitors will be able to enter online and over subscribed classes will be split as the track only holds 24 karts.

"TaG Restricted 125R will be split at their request into Light and Heavy divisions because we had 29 entries at Rochester" Monds added.
