Grids Set For 49th AKA Nationals Finalspress release The Polesitters for the Championship Finals at the 49th National Sprint Kart Championships at Cockburn International Raceway in Western Australia have been decided this afternoon. Queenslander Cian Fothergill has secured front row starts in both the Leopard Light and Clubman Light categories as he chases his first victory in the prestigious event.
In Clubman Light Fothergill will line up on the outside of young gun Tyler Greenbury, who won today’s pre-final. Former champion James Sera will start from position two in Leopard Light with Fothergill on the number one grid. David Sera was involved near the front of the field in the pre-final but an incident dislodged his nosecone forcing him onto the sidelines. Local driver Jesse Elliott will start from pole position in the Junior Clubman category while Joseph Mawson charged from the 13th to second place in Junior National behind Anton de Pasquale. The Kartforce pair of Adam Levi and Kip Foster will occupy the front row for the Clubman Heavy Final. A list of the top five starters for tomorrow’s finals can be found below.
