Vic Superkarts & Kings of KZ2 At Winton
Round 3 of the Victorian Superkart Club's 2010 series was held at Winton under perfect conditions on April 30.
The club also hosted Round 2 of the Kings of Karting KZ2 series. The KZ2 competitors had a great day vowing to come back again, after enjoying their long track experience. Best lap was from Giovanni Fascone in race two with a blistering 58.5426, bettering the 125 Gearbox lap record. Ricky Cappo was highest point scorer on the day. He and Fascone both won a heat. Matt Wall won the other two but a DNF in the first race cost him dearly.
A new lap record was also claimed by rising star Mike Godsell who put down a very impressive time of 1:03.2202. New to Superkarting from a strong sprint background we expect to see great results from this young driver.
The next round heads back to Calder Park on June 4, and don’t forget if you’re a Junior Rotax driver to get your entry in for the Rotax Junior State Championship which gets underway at Phillip Island on July 9. For further information about entering our Junior Championship e mail: vskc@tpg.com.au.
