WSK Launches Asia Pacific Series

wsk asia pacific seriesWSK Promotion continues to strengthen its presence in international karting with the launch of the WSK Asia Pacific Series.

The plan calls for a five round series with events in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.

The concept will debut this year with a single stand-alone event in November. It will expand to four events in 2012, then five for 2013 and 2014. Racing will be for KF2 and KF3, plus a Mini Kart class.

The project is being organised by two men in Shanghai - Julien Lee and Mark Lange - in alliance with the Italian WSK Promotion company.

It will follow the same 'blueprint' that WSK has used in Europe and North America, plus a Champions Cup in Canada this July.

"To speak the same language by the same technical and sporting standards, represents one on the main goal that the WSK Promotion aims to reach in its business" WSK Promotions advised in a statement.

A lot of Asian drivers are currently competing in WSK European events, making up almost 10% of participants in the current year.

"Therefore, exporting the WSK pattern to Asia seems to be the obvious thing in order to bring drivers from Eastern countries into line with international standards."
