Local junior go karter Declan Fraser has made it three titles in as many weeks.
Winning at the recent Mackay Sugar City Titles, and then travelling to Gladstone and Rockhampton to compete in the Two Track Challenge the following weekend, Fraser showed the locals why he wears the number 2 plate in Queensland winning five of the six races, in one race driving from 10th place into first.
With some good form under his belt, Declan made the journey down to the annual prestigious Young Guns Titles held at Lismore in NSW.
With a packed grid of class drivers it didn’t take Declan long to stamp his authority and in the dying laps of qualifying Declan went straight to the top of the chart posting a time 0.024 of a second faster than his next rival.
From there on in, Declan led all 3 races until the Final where he was pushed to the limit. Sitting in second for the for 11 laps Declan made his move on the final lap to drive away and take the 12 lap final and the 2011 Young Gun Title.
