Third Top-Half Title For Huttonpress release Auckland karter Arie Hutton has added to his Cadet (2005) and Junior Yamaha (2008) Top Half Series titles by winning the senior Yamaha Light class in the JK Engines 2011 Top Half Series which concluded at the KartSport Hamilton circuit on 15 May. The sixteen year old King’s College student moved to the senior class at the end of 2010 and this is his first win in the senior ranks. Arie’s note book: “The Series got off to a bad start when we had a mechanical issue while easily leading race 1 at Round 1 at Mt Wellington. With the Series allowing only the dropping of the two worst heat results, the pressure was on to not have any more poor results. Stan Tangaroa-Green and Arthur Gabb got off to a good points lead however our pace improved at Round 2 in Auckland and at Round 3 in EBOP so that coming into the final round I was equal (after dropping two worst heats) with Stan. "The weather at Hamilton was very changeable and Dad did multiple axle changes during the day to maximise the performance of my Super Freight EVR. Despite a set up issue in heat 2, we managed to go into the last race of the series with a one point lead on Stan, however we had better pace on the wet track and the Series was locked away for the year. "I would like to acknowledge the great competition with Stan, Arthur and Corey Green over the whole Series and thank the event organisers and sponsors. Also a big thanks to Lance and Mack Peach from Super Freight for their ongoing support and encouragement.” Round Results: Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 2011 JK engines Top Half Series Overall Points 100cc Yamaha Light 1st Arie Hutton Tony Kart/Yamaha/MG 748 Arie’s 2011 Series statistics:
