Track Layouts - Thunderdome & Emerald

Some updates on future kart track layouts:

Calder Park Thunderdome (see Daily News 8 June)

Below is the proposed layout for a temporary kart circuit within the Calder Park Thunderdome. After a hairpin turn 1, the circuit will turn left and go behind the pit wall, then run around the two-story media/medical centre (which can be used for Race Control) and onto the infield access roads.

It will return to behind the pits, cut back through the wall onto pit lane, and out onto the 'dome. Matt Wall informed KartSportNews that Calder Park are even willing to open up the gaps in the concrete pit wall to allow more space and run-off.

Due to calendaring issues, the event is now targeting a January date. Wall is hoping to run on a Saturday following one of the Oakleigh club's Friday night Junior Top Guns rounds. It will be a one day event with practice in the morning, competition in the afternoon and finals under lights.
