Brits Push CIK To Alter Axle RulesAccording to karting1.co.uk, a spate of axle failures has led to the Governing body of Karting in the UK to lobby the CIK-FIA for a change in axle specification. The website reports there has been an increase in rear axle breakages in the UK. Anecdotal evidence could support a similar trend here in Australia. The consequence of parts flying off karts was tragically illustrated in America in 2009 when a driver was struck in the head by a loose wheel, eventually succumbing to his injuries 10 months later.
