press release

Local Hawkesbury District business, Wescranes, proudly presents the 7th annual “Speedway Kart Grand Prix" being hosted by the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club this Sunday at the Nepean Motorsport Complex located on Rickards Road, Castlereagh.

The Wescranes organisation has been a corporate partner of the NSWSKC for numerous years and, this year, the relationship with the Club has not only continued but, in fact, grown.  As well as being the sponsor of this weekend’s event, Wescranes also sponsor the KT Pro Class and has also agreed to be the naming sponsor of the upcoming Australian Titles in September.

The Club and its members greatly appreciate the support received from the Wescranes organisation and the Hart Family and are confident that the coming meeting  will do them justice.

Four rounds have been run and, at this stage, the question is "can anybody stop or catch Kaidon Brown?".

Kaidon currently is the leader of the converted Club Championship and has three straight round wins and three straight High Points Awards to be 28 points clear of 2nd place, Nathan Bailey, and 37 points clear of 3rd place, Daniel Sayre.

Apart from Kaidon, only 50 points cover the top 10, so this weekend will see the battle for points heat up as each driver tries to increase his or her tally towards the championship.

So far this year the superbly prepared Nepean circuit has provided some of the best racing seen for a few seasons and this meeting will be run on the super fast 420mtr track - the senior karts reaching up to 100km/hr on the big long straights!  The longer track always seems to produce some great speedway action and this weekend will be no different.

All the stars and their karts will be present and the expectation of over 70 very talented speedway karters tearing up the Nepean Raceway is one that many speedway fans are planning to watch.

Big crowds have been gathering at the venue at recent meetings and, as the Australian Title draws closer, drivers only have two more opportunities to fine tune their karts.

Young 14-year Club member, Jake Baines, is this season spending the year  raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness through his racing and at this meeting will be holding a NASCAR raffle to raise money for his cause.  The raffle will have numerous NASCAR items to be won and will be drawn at the end-of-day presentation.

The racing at the Nepean Motorsport Complex on Rickards Road, Castlereagh is scheduled to start at 10am.

There is a full canteen facility for all your eating and drinking requirements throughout the day.

The NSWSKC would like to acknowledge and thank all their corporate partners for their continued support throughout 2011.
