Rotax Class Changes for 2011/2012 Ranking Cycle

Australian Rotax promoter IKD has announced several changes for the 2011/2012 Rotax Ranking Cycle. Commencing after this weekend's Rotax Nationals, the class structure for Rotax Ranking points for the 2012 Rotax Pro Tour and Rotax Nationals will be:

  • Junior Rotax @ 145KG MOJO D2 Tyre
  • Rotax Light @ 160KG MOJO D2 Tyre
  • Rotax Heavy @ 180KG MOJO D2 Tyre
  • DD2 @ 173KG MOJO D3 Tyre (DD2 Engine specifications in accordance with Rotax World Rules are available for download from www.rotax.com.au)
  • DD2 Masters @ 180KG MOJO D3 Tyre (Competitors must be aged 32 or over DD2 Engine specifications in accordance with Rotax World Rules are available for download from www.rotax.com.au)
  • Rotax Over 40’s @ 180KG MOJO D2 Tyre (Competitors must be aged 40 or over)

"The weight restrictions are being changed to bring us in line with the RMC Sporting Regulations Worldwide" IKD informed KartSportNews.

The first ranking event under the new structure will be the NSW Open State Championships at Eastern Creek on 30th September followed by the Rotax Pro Tour in Canberra on 28-30th October.

Full rules for the 2011/2012 ranking cycle will be announced on Monday.

A copy of the RMC Sporting Regulations can be downloaded from the Rotax website under the Technical
Regulations section.

At the discretion of IKD, additional support classes may be added and announced later in the year.
