Ginetta MSA British Junior Kart Championship
In tricky wet conditions, Callan O’Keeffe and Roy Johnson shared the wins at the Cumbrian circuit.  Ricky Collard, son of British Touring Car Championship ace Rob Collard, had starred in timed qualifying but slipped back thereafter, failing to complete the second final.

From pole in the first final, O’Keeffe thundered to a nine second win over Ben Barnicoat and Nikita Sidorov, the latter having the pace to come from grid 15.  But in the second final O’Keeffe and Barnicoat spun off at the first hairpin, although both able to continue, leaving Sidorov in the lead.  Johnson, who had dropped a lap in the first final after dicing for fourth with Sam Webster, was hammering through the pack, trouncing the Russian for the win with two laps to spare after pulling him in from half-distance.  The recovering O’Keeffe followed through for second, to keep a healthy points lead.  A more delayed Barnicoat could only salvage thirteenth, his title hopes fading.  Webster put on a good show with two fourth places whilst Bradley Shaw gained a place in the second final for fifth.

Comer Cadet
Although qualifying fastest and earning pole for the first final, Daniel Ticktum swerved ahead for his first of two dominant victories.  Jamie Caroline recovered quickly from having one poor heat and was soon dicing hard with Lando Norris and MacDonald, recovering second with a lap or two to spare.  But that outside front row place was Caroline’s undoing in the second final as he plummeted down the order, recovering to only tenth.  Ticktum overcame a brief challenge from Norris then disappeared into the distance once more, while MacDonald and Norris swapped third twice, Norris ahead for the second half.  Shanaka Clay came up to fourth.

Super Cadet
Owen Griffiths dominated both finals, leading a strung out small pack with champion elect Billy Monger in second both times.  Despite Griffiths recent wins, he has to count his earlier Shenington exclusion as one of his dropped scores, putting him out of title contention. Matteo Zanetti and Felix Meek were next in Final 1, but Zanetti fell to sixth in the second final.

Junior TKM
Toby Sowery sped up from his grid 6 start to depose Matt Davies from the lead, and despite some strong challenges initially from Stephen Letts until he lost a dozen places, then from Jake Walker, Sowery held for the win.  Poleman Oliver Basey spun to the back on the first lap.  Fisher Scott Fowler and Danny Keirle were in relatively lonely third and fourth places.  In the second final, Keirle was gradually dropped by Sowery and Walker, until Letts stormed up to third and towed Keirle to the lead duo.  Letts went briefly ahead, but was put back to third, with Keirle waiting for any mistakes from his fourth.  Coming down the hill on the last lap, Letts executed a perfect switchback  to retake the lead, Walker going wide onto the grass allowing Keirle to snatch third.

TKM Extreme
Josh Waring had plenty of pace to streak to a 5s first final victory.  Ashley Jones, quickest in timed qualifying, had a spin in a heat, but he stormed up to grab second from Ryan Cole at the end, with Joe Porter a second or so back.  Once past Cole, Waring eased away once again in the second final, unchallenged for the win, but Jones fell back attempting to hold third.  Gary Henderson-Keirle also lost places in the incident.  Despite a brief trade with Porter, Cole hung onto second, whilst Porter recovered third  from Ash Crossey at the end.

Formula KGP
Justin Edgar and Mark Litchfield enjoyed a massive fight for the lead throughout the first final, Litchfield having topped all the results sheets up to that point.  Michael Simpson, on the outside front row, had electrical problems and failed to start.  By the sixth lap, Edgar had found a path to the front, harried all the way by Litchfield who snatched the lead back with a couple of corners to run, but Edgar regained it and on the last corner Litchfield drew alongside as they thundered down to the flag.  Initially inseparable, Edgar was finally given the verdict.  Tom Fawcett, Steven Napier and Tom Healy were strung out behind after Bobby Game fell away from fifth in the second half.

The second final was abandoned when Fraser Wallace’s kart turned upside down spilling all its fuel on the track.

Final 1
1 Justin Edgar - Tonykart
2 Mark Litchfield - Alonso
3 Tom Fawcett - Birel
4 Steven Napier - Tonykart
5 Tom Healy - Birel
