Karts To Rev Up The River City

press release

The South Australian town of Murray Bridge is set to rev up for some great karting action over the coming months with the River City Titles set to kick start the action on October 15/16.

The Annual event will act as a pre-cursor for November’s (26/27) State Championships to be held at the Monarto venue just outside of Murray Bridge.

Over the past few years, members of the Go-Kart Club of South Australia and the Dublin Kart Club have worked tirelessly to continuously improve the facilities for both karters and spectators.

“This past year has seen another massive effort by a number of our members and wecan’t wait to host these major events over the coming months. It is our reward for all the hard work,” said GKCSA President Nathan Burgess.

“Just four years ago the facility was an empty paddock and everyone is extremely proud of what has been achieved in such a short time, now it’s time to start to show it off to as many people as possible.

“For the competitors, the races will be longer than regular to provide them with the best preparations for the upcoming state championships.

“For the spectators, the viewing facilities and amenities are continually being improved and to provide them with a great experience when coming to check out the action.”

The Monarto venue was recently selected to host Australia’s largest karting event, the National Sprint Kart Championships, in 2013 with in excess of 350 competitors expected to converge on the RiverCity for that event.

“The fact that the venue has been chosen to host such a prestigious event in such a short period since the venue was built is a big feather in the cap for everyone involved,” said Burgess.

“While our main focus is currently on the two major events we’ve got coming up over the next two months, I’m sure our focus will quickly turn towards the National Championships come December.”
