More Entries For "U18" World Championship Final

press release

There is still one event to go within the framework of the 2011 edition of the CIK-FIA “U18” World Championship. It will take place on 4-6 November at Sarno-Napoli (Italy) on the 1,700 m circuit which recently hosted the World Cups for KF2 and KF3.

Although 14 Drivers can mathematically hope to don the supreme crown, with some 75 points remaining to be allocated in Italy, the real title fight will probably concern just three Drivers: the Finn Pyry Ovaska (Maranello) has the upper hand and a 29 points lead over the Briton Matthew Graham (Zanardi) and 41 over the Frenchman Anthoine Hubert (Sodi).

From its 83 initial entries at the Championship opening, the entry list had already become richer with 3 new Drivers at the second event, held in France: the Frenchmen Joffrey De Narda (Energy) and Clément Martin (Swiss Hutless – see photo), as well as Switzerland’s Florian Thomas (Swiss Hutless).

Attracted by the experience and concept of the “U18”, these Drivers who have jumped onto the bandwagon will have another go at Sarno. Three additional recruits will bring the total number of entries for the last round of the Championship to 89: France’s Julien Carpentier (Sodi), Italy’s Vincenzo Soriano (Parolin) and the Swiss Vincenzo Alvaro (Swiss Hutless), recently crowned 2011 Swiss Champion in the “Sport 125” category.
