Arrow's Florida Dealer Off To Las Vegas

Florida’s exclusive Arrow dealer makes first team trip to annual event in Vegas with six drivers

The newest karting operation that is taking the industry by storm is Southern Karting Specialists (SKS). The exclusive Arrow dealer for the Florida area will close out the 2011 season by packing up and heading west for its first trip to the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals in Las Vegas. The November 16-20 event will be the 15th edition with SKS taking six drivers to compete in TaG Junior and TaG Cadet.

“I’m excited to finally land in Vegas and get the SKUSA SuperNationals underway for our SKS / Team Arrow squad,” commented SKS principal Tony Tesoro. “Since we got going this summer, we have been busy getting the company off the ground while connecting with current and future customers. After some solid trackside events, including the Rotax Grand Nationals, the Southwest Regional Cup finale in Texas, and regional events here in Florida, it’s been a busy few weeks testing for Vegas. I can’t wait for our drivers to hit the track.”

A solid group of drivers fill out the SKS / Team Arrow roster for TaG Cadet. Nicholas Brueckner is coming into Vegas with a solid 2011 resume. The Texan scored victory in nine of the 10 races that made up the Southwest Regional Cup program in the Micro Max category and showed well at the Rotax Grand Nationals back in July. The transition to a full field of Cadet drivers and the Vortex engine will be no issue for the 10-year old. Fellow Texan Trenton Estep will join him, having competed in the Mini Max category throughout 2011. Estep scored three podium finishes in eight SWRC starts and finished 18th at the Rotax Grand Nationals. Ecuador driver Juan Correa will compete under the SKS / Team Arrow banner in Vegas with support from IndyCar driver Jay Howard, racing his first event aboard an SKS Arrow kart. Also joining the squad for Vegas is a third Texas driver, nine-year old Ryan Patrick Lewis. A competitor in the Mini Max category in SWRC, Lewis will make his first start at the SuperNationals.

“The morning hours in Vegas are going to be busy under the SKS / Team Arrow tent,” added Tesoro. “With TaG Junior and TaG Cadet in the morning sessions, our crew will be at its best to ensure all our drivers are ready to go each session. Our Cadet drivers will all be working together to make certain they are learning the track quickly and up to speed to battle for the victory.”

Florida drivers Dominic Tesoro and AJ Myers will represent SKS / Team Arrow in the Junior division. Tesoro has a number of years already under his belt and the 14-year old will make his first start at the SuperNationals. Myers is coming into Vegas with a solid 2011 season. Placing fifth in the Florida Winter Tour Rotax Junior standings, Myers was a contender at the Rotax Grand Nationals until an incident put him off the track. The 15-year old is making his first TaG Junior start at the SuperNats, having place fourth in the S5 Junior Stock Moto category in 2009.

“Dominic has been busy over the last few weeks preparing for his debut at the SuperNationals,” continued Tesoro. “Making the move from Rotax to the Leopard should be no issue for him and our main goal is to stay out of trouble to insure he starts the main event. AJ has been to Vegas previously and stood on the podium, so that kind of confidence is assuring. He’s shown well at the big stage events and next week should be no different as we have seen the Arrow brand up front previously in the TaG Junior category. We would like nothing more than to leave Vegas with pictures of SKS / Team Arrow drivers standing on the podium Sunday evening.”
