Kiwi Karter to Compete At Lithgow's Ladies Special Event

press release

‘On Track to beat Breast Cancer’

Top junior female New Zealand karter Chelsea Herbert is set to compete at the 'Ladies Special Karting Event' at Lithgow, NSW, in January 2012.

The event, open to females only, has grown over the years to become a major event on the Australian Karting calendar and will showcase the exceptional talents of its female competitors.

The event attracts female competitors of all ages from across Australia - and now New Zealand. The race event initiative, developed for over five years, not only gives the ladies in our sport a chance to race against themselves in what is widely recognized as a male dominated discipline, but more importantly all  proceeds from the event are in support of the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation.

This event has raised over $100,000 for the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation in previous years.

The event is a chance for Kartsport and its community to contribute to a cause that tragically affects the lives of many females on a large scale. It is hoped that Chelsea's entry will give the event an International flavour, hopefully raising the events profile even further.

The funds raised are directed towards the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Any research in this area will be internationally beneficial. It is through this research that the world can hope to find a cure for Breast Cancer.

The generosity of local Australian business, sponsors and companies like Stones KartSport one of Australia’s largest Arrow Kart dealers of whom will provide the equipment for Chelsea to compete, has meant the cost of running the event has been kept to a minimum, ensuring that maximum benefit will go to the Foundation.

Thanks to Right Karts and David Sera for helping to establish the contacts to make it possible for Chelsea to compete at this event.
