State Champion Rookie Set For Junior Debut

Queensland State Championship winning Karter Jordan McGregor will this weekend make the next step in his racing career and will join the ranks of Junior Karting at Round 1 of Victoria’s Golden Power Series in Bendigo.

Already having achieved some stunning results, McGregor is preparing for a challenging debut in what is set to be a well attended event.

“I’m really excited about making the next step in my Karting career, I know it will be a challenge but I feel I have prepared well enough to take on the tough field,” stated McGregor.

Amongst Jordan’s outstanding results, he has shown to be impressive on the big stage. Starting out in the Cadets (Midgets) category, McGregor achieved 3rd at the SA State Championships and 4th at the Victorian and Queensland State Championships. In addition to that, Jordan then took the next step in the Rookie class where he claimed his own Queensland State Title and placed a striking 2nd at the SA Championships in 2011. Furthermore, Jordan has also impressively won the Super Cheap Series in his home state in both 2010 and 2011.

With the move to Junior National Light, Jordan has a big year ahead on his racing calendar and the opportunities that these events present to him has the Whitsundays based young gun anticipating some great racing.

McGregor added, “It will be great to be racing against some of Australia’s best Karters, many of which are older than me, but it will something that will prepare me well for my future.”

The schedule for Jordan includes State Title events in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales aswell as the entire Golden Power Series and a trip to the Northern Territory for the 50th Australian Karting Association National Championships.

Round 1 of the Golden Power Series will be held at Victoria’s Marong Raceway in Bendigo this Saturday and Sunday, 18th and 19th of February.
