CRG On Top In CIK Qualifying

The CRG Australia Racing Team has had a sensational start at to the opening day of round one of the 2012 CIK Stars of Karting Series at Adelaide’s Bolivar Raceway with two pole positions from the three Pro classes on offer.
Temperatures soared to over 40 degrees as both Jason Pringle and Jake Coleman got their 2012 campaigns off to the best possible start by topping the time sheets in their respective classes.

Pringle who finished the 2011 series off on a high with his first ever round win picked up right where he left off to pole the Pro Gearbox KZ2 category. From there the Victorian was just as solid in the heats and will start final one from the best possible position in pole.
“After finishing last year on a high, it’s great to back that up and start the year on a high,” said Pringle who finished third in the Championship in 2011.
“It’s damn hot here at the track but my CRG has been great so far and I’m sure we can carry that through to tomorrow’s 34-lap finals.”

Tomorrow’s first final will see Pringle line up on pole again while fellow CRG KZ2 driver Matthew Erdmann will start from P16 but will be looking to move forward in a hurry.
After finishing fourth overall in the 2011 Pro Junior KF3 Championship, Coleman was hoping for big things this year and he would be full of confidence going into the final day of round one after poling the top junior category and winning two of the three heats.
Unfortunately for Coleman he was involved in a racing incident while dicing for the lead and dropped to the back of the pack in his opening heat however due to his two race victories he will start final one from fourth and will be a force to be reckoned with.
Fellow CRG driver Jedd Stojackovic qualified second fastest in the Australian Leopard Challenge support class before winning the opening heat. From there he took a second and fourth in the two remaining heats and will start tomorrow’s pre-final from the outside front row in P2.
