CIK Round 1 Wrap - Kosmic Racing NSW

press release

It was a great weekend at round one of the CIK Stars of Karting Series presented by Castrol EDGE  for the Kosmic Racing NSW team at South Australia’s Bolivar Raceway.

Pro Light (KF1)

Cian Fothergill: SA State Champion and final 1 winner also third in final 2 after fighting his way back from a bad start to be in the mix at the end of the race.

Cian (pictured, right) was right there all weekend and showed he is right in the hunt to claim the James Courtney trophy for the second time in three years.

Matthew Waters: drove very well all weekend, the team worked very hard with Matt and he was on the pace in the last heat picking up second. Unfortunately Matt had a coming together in the 1st Final damaging his kart. His pit crew worked hard with Remo Luciani to get his kart back out for the final where he finished a credible ninth.

Daniel Holihan: Dan learnt a lot from the weekend and he continually improved his driving. Unfortunately Daniel’s engine developed a misfire early in the meeting and it took some time for the team to fix the problem this made it hard for Daniel in the opening heats.

Pro Junior (KF3)

Dimitri “the Stig” Agathos: drove an amazing race to get third in final 2 from 13th. Dimitri (left) showed everyone what he is capable of continually setting fastest laps during the meeting. The team is very excited about watching Dimitri fight for the Pro Junior (KF3) championship.

Lachlan Gibbons: Lachlan did an amazing job in his first hit out with the team and in CIK. He was matching it with his team mate for much of the weekend and showed great promise for the upcoming year.

Australian Leopard Challenge

Elle Brydon top effort for 4th and Matt Boylan for 5th in the Leopard Heavy category.
