KF1 World Championship Update

As published on Tuesday, the CIK-FIA has culled the three European races that were scheduled to be part of the 2012 KF1 World Championship, due to a lack of entries.

The majority of members within the CIK Commission have now officially decided to maintain the Asian events of Suzuka (JPN) and Macau (MAC). These events can utilise local participation which should guarantee starting grids with a sufficient number of starters.

The CIK Commission has also decided to not apply the engine lottery that was to be a feature of the series. The choice of engine, therefore, is now left to the entrant.

Entries have been reopened for all drivers (ie, they dont have to originate from Asia) for the Suzuka event until 1st May at midnight.

There will be separate entries for these two events. The entry deadline for Macau (to be run on 20-21 October) is 14 September 2012.
