TV Sponsor Pulls Out Of Superkarts

Suparkarts Australia has accused members of the superkarting fraternity for the loss of a sponsor that was to cover TV costs for the opening round of the Superkart Nationals. A request for further details has yet to elicit a response. Here is the press release as received:

press release

SKA regrets to advise that despite having locked in a major corporation to take on the TV rights for Round 1 of this year's championship we have now lost the support of our TV sponsor who have been closely watching the profile of the sport to ensure that their sponsorship was associated with a progressive and professional sport.

This loss of support has been directly attributed to the unprofessional and disrespectful manner in which a number of members of the superkart fraternity having been dealing with the matter of junior drivers and their rights to drive at our championship.

Our TV sponsors are disgusted at the behaviour of this part of the superkart fraternity and believe that such behaviour has irreparably damaged the sport for the long term.

SKA is extremely disappointed that this loss has occurred and urge superkarters to direct their energy to the positive development of the sport.

Regards
SKA Board
