IAME Event News: Tamworth

press release

START YOUR ENGINES

Tamworth Kart Racing Club is proud to announce the NSW IAME TAG CHALLENGE debuting on 19-20th May 2012.

For all IAME drivers, Open and Restricted. NSW is holding the FIRST EVER IAME TAG CHALLENGE, this is a one-weekend-event which will be held annually alternating between Tamworth and Newcastle clubs. Will you claim the very first title win in your class on the events debut?

This event has already attracted a few stars.

  • Michael Hazelton of MIKRACE fame who just recently won the Leopard Heavy class at the Leopard Challenge event at CIK held at Newcastle.
  • Daniel Stein has also entered and is one of the best qualifiers around, this time he intends to go one further and win the final.
  • Garnet Patterson ‘the local gun’ is looking forward to competing. Garnet normally runs Leopard light and has been putting in some impressive lap times around the Tamworth circuit lately.

With the Pro-weight in the Leopard class it should make this class a very exciting spectacle when these three drivers compete against each other. With more drivers to enter in the next few weeks we may even have some more stars to mention which will make the event even more entertaining.

There are quite a few drivers who want to drive on the MG Yellow tyres. There is the IAME SPORTSMAN class for those drivers who want to drive with a bit less grip on the MG. It will be interesting to see the final entry tally for both these classes to find out the most popular choice between the tyres.

PRIZES:

IAME X30 and RL engines are eligible. More prizes have been added to the list of giveaways for drivers. Every IAME driver has a chance to win a prize from our driver entry draw, all IAME competitors are eligible, they will be drawn out through the meeting to enable them to collect a prize at presentation at the end of the event.

On top of all these prizes the TOP-5 winners in each IAME category will all be eligible to win prizes at the annual Leopard Final Shootout held later this year

The classes will be run at Pro-weight with the Leopard class on MG Yellows, The IAME Sportsman class on MG Reds and the IAME TAG Restricted on MG Reds.

We have also created a 190kg class in IAME Restricted for the ‘extra heavy’ guys who can't quite get their weight down to the Pro weight. Minimum entries in the IAME classes is 8. Due to the Pro weights there will only be a maximum of 11 classes running which gives every driver plenty of track time.

There are only a few weeks to. So get your entries in early to receive your discount and to assist the club for catering. By the way you don't have to pay the entry fee until race day!
