Esteban Muth Continues To Impress

press release

In Mariembourg and in Ostricourt, Esteban Muth dominated the first two rounds of the Mini category in the Belgian French Community Championship. In Amay, venue for the third round of the season, the young Brussels boy again achieved a grand slam with pole position, two victories and two fastest laps. Unbeaten in 2012, Esteban savoured the added delight of being joined on the podium once again by his younger brother O’Neill, still contesting second place in the Championship.

For the brothers Esteban and O’Neill Muth, the circuit at Amay is of particular significance. “It was here that we started driving,” Esteban recalls. “Now we no longer come here to practice, but I think I can soon get used to it again.”

The Championship leader rapidly turned his words into actions with a fastest time in qualifying. His brother O’Neill was fourth fastest.

In the two heats on the programme, the scenario was repeated for Esteban. The 2011 champion in the Mini category (8-11 years) retained the advantage of pole position and took the lead for long drives unchallenged. Leaving Amay with six victories from six races (not to mention the Belgian Mini Challenge, run outside the Championship), the Brussels boy quite simply remains unbeaten in the first half of the season!

His younger brother O’Neill had a less relaxing Sunday. In the first race he had to fight hard for his eventual third place after a first lap collision. Better placed on the grid for the second heat, O’Neill took to his brother’s tail and did not let go, recording the second fastest lap of the race. This enabled him to finish just 3 points away from second place in the Championship.

“It was a great day and I enjoyed myself a lot,” O’Neill smiled. “What’s more, I was very happy to drive in my new Bell helmet! Like Esteban’s, it is in the Lewis Hamilton colours … and we’re proud to prove that the LH kart works so well.”

After these three initial rounds contested in less than two months, the French Community Championship now takes a long summer break, until mid-September, when the second half of the season begins. Until then, Esteban and O’Neill Muth will certainly not be resting on their laurels. Their aim will be to continue the season in the same victorious way!
