NSW State Cup, Round 2 (Southern)

The second round of the NSW State Cup (Southern) was held at Wagga on May 12/13. Saturday morning commenced with a fine sunny day. Entries were down with a number of competitors opting to do other things. Total race entries were 60 across 12 classes.

Although the quantity of competitors was down, there were high quality races over the weekend across all classes.
Qualifying and two heats were conducted on Saturday with no serious incidents to report.
Sunday saw a cold windy morning with a temperature of 8 degrees, and the egg and bacon rolls with a coffee were just the order.

Pre-finals followed by the final got underway on a cold and slippery track after drivers briefing and the results for the weekend were:

Overall it was a great weekend with great racing and the spectacle was the Clubman Super Heavy final with the closet finish ever seen at Wagga when Bob edged out his son Brad to take the chequered flag by the smallest of margins.
