Josh Rogers' Race Diary

press release

Josh Rogers is proving he's among Australia's best young drivers, racking up plenty of strong results aboard his Kosmic Kart/MG Engine combination.

Shortly after returning home to Queensland from his success in Rookie class at the 2012 Victorian State Titles, it was time for Josh to get ready for the Queensland State Titles at Gladstone, his home track.

QLD STATE TITLES - GLADSTONE - 6 April 2012 - Rookies
The event started well with great weather and a good turn out we looked forward to a great result. Qualifying went well with Josh taking pole position and following up with wins in all the heats and pre-final, all was looking good for the 23 lap final.

There were some great battles in the final with positions changing regularly between Josh, Queenslander Harrison Oddie and Cooper Murray from Victoria. Josh suffered lack of rear grip throughout the race and could not hold off Cooper from taking the win with Josh a close 2nd and a 3rd for Harrison.

QLD COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS - ROCKHAMPTON - Round 1 - 14 April 2012 - Rookies
Next on the calender was round 1 of the Queensland Country Championships in Rockhampton. Josh in his Kosmic Kart set the pace from the start, qualifying 3 tenths faster than his nearest rival and going on to win all heats and final and to win the round and an early lead in the series.

YOUNG GUNS - LISMORE - 6 May 2012 - Rookies
A couple of weeks later it was off to Lismore NSW for the Young Guns. As soon as Josh hit the track he was fastest with the Kosmic Rocky Kart and MG Engine both on fire (considering he had never driven there before). "I love this track" Josh said. It's now his favourite.

Qualifying pole in both sessions just outside lap record time and wins in both heats, pre-final and a strong victory in the final gave him a zero points win and a very special parade lap with the checkered flag, a great weekend overall and a terrific venue. "I cant wait till next year" said Josh

MACK TRUCKS TOP DOG CHALLENGE - BUNDABERG - 29 April 2012 - Rookies
Next was the Mack Trucks Top Dog Challenge in Bundaberg QLD, it also went very well with Josh again showing his skill with a convincing win over his Queensland rivals.

QLD COUNTRY CHAMPOINSHIPS - BUNDABERG - R2 - 27 May - Rookies
Josh's most recent race was last weekend with round 2 of the Queensland Country Championships also in Bundaberg with wins in almost all races for an overall win.

"Having great pace here is great with the QLD Closed Titles also being held here this year" he said. "A special thanks to Kosmic, the Kart has been awesome this year, and MG Engines they are the best."

Also at Round 2 of the Queensland Country championships were some other great results from Kosmic drivers, Joel Jamieson placing 1st in Cadet class and Jayden Gollan (son of engine man Mick Gollan) was 3rd in Rookies.
