Hughes, Greenbury & Hill Take Victories In Ipswich

AKA media

JAM Racing’s Adam Hughes, Bolt Pro Racing’s Tyler Greenbury and Kart 1 Racing’s Cameron Hill were victorious during Round Three of the CIK Stars of Karting Series presented by Castrol EDGE in Ipswich today.

Above: Finals day highlights from round 3

Hughes was impressive on his way to victory in the Pro Light (KF1) ranks – his first since his winning on debut in the 2010 series finale. Cian Fothergill charged hard from the rear of the grid, after failing to finish the opening final, to claim the runner-up placing ahead of reigning Champion Jake Spencer.

Greenbury (right, AF Images/Budd pic) got the jump off the line at the start of the main event in the Pro Gearbox (KZ2) ranks ahead of Matthew Wall and John Grother, who won the opening final of the day. While they all had a share of the lead at different stages of the race, it was Greenbury who showed the superior speed aboard his new CRG kart to take the win ahead of Wall and Grother.

In the Pro Junior (KF3) ranks Canberra driver Cameron Hill won his second straight round, and as a consequence now leads the championship standings ahead of Jake Coleman who finished third. Top Gun Racing’s Joseph Burton-Harris finished second.

In the Challenge categories victories went to William Brown (Junior National Light), Nicholas Andrews (Junior National Heavy), Jason Burns (Clubman), James Macken (Leopard Light) and Brendan Nelson (Leopard Heavy).

A more detailed report will follow.
