Mawson On The Move In Portugal

Joseph Mawson has had a strong start on the first day of competition in the Under 18 World Championships in Portugal. Mawson (Top Kart) qualified 7th in the 71-kart field before marching on to 2nd, 1st and 2nd in the heats - and becoming the first Aussie to win a race in the U18 competition.

Jacob Parsons (Top Kart) qualified 41st and carded heat results of 12th, 11th and 12th.

In the Academy Trophy class, James Abela posted the 24th fastest time and sits 28th overall after heat results of 21st (DNF), 9th and 13th.
