Aussies in Top Ten At Braga

Australian drivers have faired well during the opening round of the World Under 18 Championship and Academy Trophy at Braga in Portugal over the weekend.

Joseph Mawson sits 5th in the Under 18 World Championship series after his strong run through the heats and 8th in the final. Jacob Parsons failed to finish following an early incident and is 33rd on points.

James Abela was the big mover in the opening final of the Academy Trophy charging his way from 28th on the grid to eighth, which ended as seventh when a fellow competitor was excluded. He backed this up with sixth in the second final, setting fastest lap on the way.
