Three Wins For FA Kart At AKA Nationals

With only a handful of FA Kart Drivers making the huge trek to Darwin for the AKA Nationals, and nine green plates on offer over the 2 day event, FA Kart showed domination in limited numbers taking almost a clean sweep of the Clubman categories, proving its worth as a Clubman kart.

Scott Simpson was simply unbeatable in Clubman Super Heavy once again, securing Pole Position in his FA V2 32mm chassis. On grid 2 was non other then FA driver Ben McKinlay making it an all FA Front row.

Simpson showed superior speed throughout the weekend winning all the heats, pre final and final. McKinlay, starting from grid 2, struggled with the starts as everyone did from grid 2, but still bought his FA V2 32mm chassis home in 2nd position making it an FA one-two in Clubman Super Heavy.

Thomas Randle also showed that he is a regular top runner in the hotly contested Junior Clubman, with Randle also taking pole position in Qualifying. Thomas put on a brilliant display of driving throughout the heat races and pre-final, putting his FA TS30 on pole for the final. Randle knew it would be tough, but he showed maturity and speed taking his FA to victory.

Clubman Light was action packed. James Sera stole the show in Qualifying under lights edging out the competition by 4 tenths of a second. Sera showed he had the pace and took out the heat races. With the FA TS30 cruising to a substantial win in the Pre-Final. With the conditions much cooler for the night Final, Sera set about building a gap which he was able to do to take his FA across the line comfortably ahead of the rest.

James Sera also showed great speed in Leopard Light. Sera qualified on grid 4, struggling a bit during the heat races. Sera found speed in the Pre-Final and with a brilliant move around the outside of reining champion Cian Fothergill, he took the win and started from Pole in the final. Unfortunately, with some mistakes on the opening laps, Sera lost the lead to youngster Lehane. James set about driving smoothly and calmly and was able to bridge the gap somewhat, although run out of laps to take 2nd position.
