Cobden's New Facilities Ready For Use

The new amenities block at the South West Kart Club's Cobden track is ready for the influx of karters competing in the annual Shane McPhee Memorial Trophy event on Sunday, September 16.

This will be the first Open meeting since the Official Opening of the new amenities block. The huge investment includes new shower and change facilities (6) and toilets, as well as two First Aid rooms, two stewards rooms and a full disabled facility. It is connected to the clubrooms by a covered walkway. The club has also relaid the pit area for all-weather use.

The September 16 race meeting will be run in reverse direction.

"The track was designed to run in both directions, and club members say they enjoy the clockwise experience, as it feels even faster than normal direction" the club's Chris Place informed KartSportNews.

Practise will commence at 9am Saturday (full canteen from 9am) followed once again by the popular Saturday night roast dinner. Camping is permitted at the circuit.

A link to the event's Supp Regs is on the Race Calendar page. The Shane McPhee Trophy will be contested by the senior class with the most entries.
