Developments At Arrow

Bart Price raced in the Clubman Challenge class at the CIK Stars of Karting round at Todd Road on the weekend. Price was competing on an unpainted development chassis as the team tests various things for possible use on future karts.

Above: The kart ran Arrow's new self-adjusting caliper. Manufactured by braking experts Dent, this caliper will be offered as a component upgrade on new X2 karts for $200 (or $300 for exisitng X2 owners to upgrade - normally this item would cost much more) and will be available in the coming weeks. Note the tiny camera that's under evaluation...

Above: Now a standard item on Arrow's CR kart (for Cadets, Rookies and sub-junior classes), this kart also had an adjustable wheelbase. While it makes testing various setups easier (no need to manufacture long and short versions of the same frame), there is a possibility that this might be on the next Clubman kart from Arrow (whenever that might be)

Above & Below: In between the pre-final and final, the Arrow team made major changes to the setup of this kart, running what Bart described as a 'Rotax setup' (with big axle, stubs etc) and a 'Clubman setup' on the same day to see how it performed. While testing in public can sometimes be embarassing from a performance and results perspective, it's a necessary evil in order to make evaluations on raceday grip levels. Price drove the kart to 3rd in the final.
