Coffs Harbour & The NSW Championships

This weekend, Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Club will be hosting the annual NSW SPRINT KART CHAMPIONSHIPS at the Phil Hawthorn drive Karting Circuit just next to the BCU International Stadium.

Many competitors have arrived today to erect their pit facilities and settle into their accommodation around Coffs Harbour with their crews and supporters.

Official practice is set for Wednesday and Thursday with Qualifying and racing starting on Friday. Racing will continue on Saturday with heats and the finals for each of the 13 divisions will be run on Sunday.

With 260 competitors at this event, it is sure to provide an excellent spectacle with close high speed racing from the best drivers from all over Australia that are attending. The event is expected to bring more than 2,000 people to Coffs Harbour for the week long event.

Entry for spectators is absolutely FREE and with 13 divisions and drivers aged from 7-70 there is something on show for the whole family including potential future Formula One and V8 Supercar stars. There are full canteen facilities on site and superb viewing areas from which the entire track and spectacular racing is visible.

 The club is a non profit organization and all money raised from events such as these and from the support of local businesses are re-invested into improving the facilities for all locals to enjoy, especially our children who have the added bonus of learning important driving skills in a very safe motor sport, Kart Racing.
