News Briefs

  9 October 2012

Bits 'n' pieces from around the world:

  • The WA State Championships in Bunbury were previewed on GWN7 News last week. View the event preview clip, which includes driver interviews, HERE.

  • Another kart distribution company has set up in Indianapolis, USA. "McLaughlin Motorsports DBA Top Kart USA" has become the Top Kart distributor and is setting up dealerships around America. The firm has had a long association with Birel and will continue to support the red karts. Grand Products will remain the importer for the Top Kart range in the United States.

  • In order to include more news and events from around the country, KartSportNews is on the lookout for additional contributors. The site already enjoys significant contributions from many valued people - but there is capacity to cover many more events if reliable contributors can be found. We're particularly interested in club-level karting. If someone can write a race report and take a few photos for the club's newsletter, why not email it to KartSportNews and give your local racers some national coverage and recognition? Information on contributing to the site is HERE.

  • Looks like Azzurro is up to something... Blake Stanton ran an unpainted development chassis at the WA Championships on the weekend. Azzurro also raced their new Enduro kart at Canberra a few weeks ago...

  • Speaking of the Canberra circuit, the club advises their track will be closed this Sunday, October 14, due to an important working bee. "It will be used to address a number of track related items that are required to maintain our current AKA issued track permit" the club stated.

  • Pacific Park Raceway has re-opened for practice. Repairs have now been completed to the section of the tyre wall at Boral Corner that had been burnt out by a recent bushfire in the area. The Port Macquarie Kart Racing Club would like to thank the local R.F.S for their diligence in protecting the track to the extent that they did, and also thanks to the club members who assisted with the repairs.
