JMax Trophy Class News

press release 12 October 2012

The JMax Trophy class is set to explode onto the Pro Tour scene at the first round in Canberra at the end of the month. Karts have been dispatched from IKD and the lucky 19 competitors of the new Sodi control class are in preparations for their debut event.

IKD were overwhelmed with the response to the new class and had more participants registering their interest than there were karts.

“We are happy that our concept was so well received and it is very comforting to see that all of the packages sold out so quickly" said IKD Managing Director, Ian Black.

"We have ordered additional karts and while I cannot confirm the exact delivery date, I can confirm that we have more on the way. We already have a waiting list and are taking the details of interested parties so that we can advise them when we have more information. Even if you may not be looking at racing the class this year, it will greatly help us if you register your details for next year as this information will help us with our planning for the next season. If we have enough interest, we can definitely start working on another package for the end of next year."

Competitors can register their interest by lodging an enquiry form from the website.

The JMax Trophy class will be offered at all Rotax Pro Tour events and at the Rotax Nationals. Running to a controlled set of technical guidelines, this introductory class is aimed at Junior drivers who would like to experience the Pro Tour without stepping straight into the Formula JMax class. The Trophy class will also run on a different tyre compound, the MOJO D1 tyre.

The Trophy class will be ranked as a part of the National Rotax Ranking and the winner at the end of the season gets to keep their kart package as their prize.
