  • Multiple Australian karting champion William Yarwood is ramping up his involvment in the karting industry by opening a new retail outlet at Slacks Creek in southeast Queensland. A Brand Ambassador for, and driver of, Exprit karts, Yarwood will head up 'Project X Racing'. Initially competing at Rotax Pro Tour events, the organisation will also be represented at local club level meetings.

  • The AKA advises a new facility has been developed for the convenience of AKA members at results website www.natsoft.com.au. Natsoft, who present results from the majority of Australia’s circuit racing events, now draw data direct from the Australian Karting Association’s CM:S system. An added feature is the possibility to do a Driver Search which shortcuts directly to your own personal results. It's a free service and the team at Natsoft intend to organise giveaways from time to time exclusively for AKA members.

  • Last year's KZ2 World Cup winner Joey Hanssen will run a driver training day while he is in Australia for the KZ2 Invitiational. Hanssen and Lenzo Kart Australia will run the day at the Eastern Goldfields track on Monday, November 12. There is a limited number of vacancies and bookings are required.   • With over 120 nominations already, the Pacific Homes Whitsunday Titles looks like it's going to be the largest meeting in North Qld since the Queensland titles were held in Mackay in 2010. The feature class is TAG 100 where the top three will share $2000 prize money and the entire field go in the draw for 3 sets of Dunlops. The Clubman classes are filling with $1000 to go to the winner, and the event will see the return of Yamaha Junior Clubman. All competitors will go into a draw at the end of the meeting for a share of $1500 worth of gear kindly donated by Adam at Yamaha. Pre-entries close Midnight  Wednesday 17th October.

  • The scumbags are busy this month with news of more stolen karting equipment. Stolen from a garage/carport in Grafton, NSW last night: Aluminium custom made enclosed karting trailer with a Rhino storage pod on the left side, and small black ‘Coca Cola’ sticker on both the rear left and right hand side. Four karts: 3 Azzurros (R8 prototype 28×28 junior, R6b 28×28 junior national, R6b 28×32 clubman/rotax) and 1 x Intrepid Cruiser V with junior CIK KF3 Vortex engine. Also, 2 x 'J engines and 1 x close to new Clubman engine. If anyone has any information, phone Lachlan - 0421 736 926.

  • Sydney karter Jake Parsons is participating in a Skip Barber Karting Shootout in America at the moment. A 'day one diary' is on the AKA site HERE.
