Recently crowned CIK Stars of Karting Pro Gearbox (KZ2) Champion Chris Hays will take on the world’s best drivers at the 16th Annual SuperNationals in Las Vegas, America this weekend.

The Gold Coast driver (right, Real Deal Media pic), who is competing at the event thanks to the $10,000 grant he received for winning the championship in the CIK-specification category, will join with the Buddy Rice Karting team in and Energy Corse team at the prestigious event.

“It’s going to be an amazing event, racing against the world’s best drivers in the KZ2 category is just a dream come true,” said Hays.

“I’ve never been to Vegas before but I’ve heard a lot of really good things about this event and can’t wait to hit the track. It will be the first time that I’ve raced on a temporary circuit, so that will be another new experience.”

Joining Hays on the grid in the category which in 2009 featured Formula One Legend Michael Schumacher, will be World Champions Marco Ardigo and Bas Lammers along with European Champion Jorrit Pex and rising star Max Verstappen.

“When you look at the entry list, it’s really the who’s who in the world of karting. There are names of drivers in there that I would only every dream of racing, and now it’s coming true,” said Hays.

“My aim is to simply do the best that I can do, hopefully that is enough to finish inside the top ten but it’s going to be tough against such a high quality of drivers.

“Without the support of Vodafone, Energy Corse Australia, Adam Graham and Jon Targett along with the prizemoney from the CIK Stars of Karting Series, none of this would be possible. I hope that I can do everyone proud and fly the Aussie flag high on Sunday afternoon.”
