Interesting items from the word of karting...
- Next year's Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final will be held in New Orleans, USA. The announcement was made, as is tradition, at the conclusion of competition at the current world final. The event will take place at NOLA Motorsports Park in November, 2013.
- Michael Schumacher stated he has signed a testing contract for 2013, and many believed that this was with the Mercedes F1 team - but reports on the internet suggest it's with Tony Kart! Schumacher has raced with the Italian squad many times in the past, and is now an official test driver. "“Yes, I signed a contract for work…I love karting, that was always a big thing for me.”" he said.

- Maranello presented their 2013 chassis at their annual 'Maranello Day' at South Garda. All 2013 models are equipped with what Maranello describe as "hybrid bearing support for the axle, round and no more with variable pitch like the LS model in its 2012 version". The 2013 models are known as the RS7 (for KF2 and KZ categories) and RS10 (KF3 and also KZ). The stub axle is also different allowing two more settings of Ackermann.
