More Racing At 2013 Junior Top GunsTweet
The Oakleigh Kart Racing Club has added an extra race, and thus more laps, to the season opening Junior Top Guns in January next year. "For 2013 we have introduced an extra heat of 10 laps" club President Adam Bourke informed KartSortNews. "There will be eight classes with 35 laps a night, plus qualifying. We will be starting one hour earlier than usual and will be charging $75 per night." Each round of Junior Top Guns will be run as a standalone event, one on Friday night (Jan 17), the other on Saturday night. However, tyres used at round one must also be used for round 2. Similarly, only two engines can be used across the event; a motor that is sealed on Friday must remain sealed for the Saturday night. "The reason for the tyre and the motor rules is to help keep the cost down for the karter, and yet still give them more laps" Bourke added. Drivers who compete in both rounds shall be in contention for series trophies and cash prizes down to 5th (based on highest points from both rounds - points from both finals count for the series). Prizes include Arrow chassis, cash, Yamaha gear, motors, tyres and more. Supp Regs will be available shortly. Classes: Cadets 90 Kgs (100kg Yamaha J) $1100.00 prize money per class for total points over the 2 rounds
