Karting News Briefs

  31 December 2012

the last karting briefs for 2012...

  • Kartcom.com reports that German carburettor manufacturer HHC have track tested a kart engine which has a decompression button built into the head to allow easier starting. Despite the kart being direct drive, it starts very easily with just a gentle one-person push down the track - see the video HERE. Once the engine fires, the valve closes and the engine returns to full compression. While the technology is not new, it's possibly the first time it's been used on a contemporary kart engine. More info HERE.

  • This is KG's new rear bumper for the homologation that starts tomorrow, 1 January 2013. Named the RS3, the bumper is in three main parts with the outer pieces adjustable to accommodate different rear track widths. KG also have a new chain guard for KZ/Shifter categories (below), designed for safety and to help keep the kart clean. It comes with a fast-mounting kit.
