Lotus Kommitted In Australia

As revealed in the Daily News last month, Lotus Racing Karts are now in Australia. WA karters Lloyd Bilick and Brad Collins’ new venture, Kommitted Motorsport, is the official Australian distributor for the black and gold machines.

While new to the karting ranks, Lotus has a long history in world motorsport and is involved in various categories around the world, including, obviously, Formula One.

As part of the Lotus Motorsport division, Lotus Racing Karts will field a factory backed team in the KF1 World Championship and the Under 18 World Championship. The brand is also building its representation in several series round the world.

With its move into karting, Group Lotus is the first car manufacturer to have a presence at the entry level of motorsport.

Locally, Lotus debuted at the recent Carnival of Karts meeting at Cockburn, WA. Brad Fitch and Bilick destroyed the opposition in the Sportsman 125 Heavy class, taking a commanding one-two.

Sharing a similar layout, the C30 (30mm main rails) is most suitable for the TaG classes and KF, while the C32 (bigger tube) comes with all the linkages etc for KZ Gearbox/Open category. Lotus parts and accessories are already stock and a range of Lotus racewear will soon be available.

The chassis are made from chrome moly tube, have a 104cm wheelbase, 50mm axle, adjustable front and rear stabilizers, anodized aluminium components and include full KG bodywork and Lotus sticker kit.

In addition to importing and distributing Lotus karts and parts, Kommitted Motorsport is a trackside karting business that also stock Remo Racing products and OMP Lotus Race wear. Driver tuition is also offered by Lloyd Bilick.
