  • Congratulations are in order for KartX’s Paul Carruthers who became a dad on Tuesday! Paul and his wife Danielle happily announced the safe arrival of Connor Jaxon Carruthers, weighing 3.1kg, at 10:02pm on 8 January.

  • Zip Kart is the distributor for ArtGP chassis in the UK. The organization is aiming for success in the Rotax classes in 2013 and as such are putting together a team of drivers aboard the ArtGP TS01 chassis. The highest placed ART Rotax drivers will be evaluated with one of them winning a start in KF with the ART GP factory team at a WSK or CIK event.

  • The Southern Go-Kart Club’s Australia Day Classic will launch the South Australian karting season on January 26. TaG Light and Heavy are offered at this Saturday only event, allowing those who plan to race alongside the CIK series a perfect chance to gain track time. Event details are on the Race Calendar.

  • Is Tony Kart in negotiation to supply chassis for the next Rotax World Final in New Orleans? That’s the possibility according to Kartmag.fr. Ever since Rotax made the Grand Finals a ‘spec chassis’ event, many of karting’s famous brands have supplied equipment, but so far it’s never been an OTK product.

  • Former F1 racer and Camping World Trucks competitor Nelson Piquet Jnr will join DeFrancesco Racing at the Florida Winter Tour opening round. Piquet will compete in the Rotax Senior division aboard a Tony Kart. Regular DFR driver Devlin DeFrancesco will race in TaG Junior. "It is a pleasure to welcome Nelson into the program," expressed DFR Team Manager Nick Mitchell. "He will be a force on track and while under the tent, he will be a role model who Devlin can look up to.” A preview for the opening round is on the series' webpage HERE.

  • James Sera's Karting Centre now has a $99 'Race Prep' package. The deal will see your kart not only cleaned and prepped for your next meeting, but James will set it up according to your body weight and class. Details below:


  • Speaking of James Sera and Tony Karts, both JSKC and Tony Kart Australia have joined the sponsor list for Junior Top Guns at Oakleigh. 

  • Due to the monthly working bee, the Canberra kart track will be closed from 9am through to the completion of works, this Sunday, January 13. Members must attend at least one working bee during the year to be eligible for the club championship. UPDATE - this working bee has been cancelled due to fire ban across the weekend.
