AKA Tender Document For Future Cadet/Rookie EngineTweet
The Australian Karting Association has released the Tender Document for a future engine in the Cadet and Rookie classes. The intent of the tender is to introduce a new engine into these categories that has parity, is cost effective, light weight, long life and can easily be transitioned from Cadets to Rookies. Interestingly, there is a requirement that the new engine be faster than the current motor (between 1 and 1.5 tenths on a 1000m track). The AKA also stipulate minimum margin between wholesale and retail price on the engine (max RRP of $1,650 inc GST) and spare parts. Images of the document are below.
