  12 February 2013

press release

Michael Saller will step across the ditch for his inaugural International Karting event at the upcoming Trans-Tasman Challenge to be held at the Manawatu Toyota Raceway on February 16th, competing in the Rotax Heavy category, a class that he has shown strong form in in the opening rounds of the Rotax Pro Tour.

Saller will join five other Australian drivers at the event; Taylor Hazzard (Cadets), Lachlan McHugh (Rotax Max Junior), Ryal Harris (Rotax Max Light) and Queensland brother combination, Trent and Lane Moore (Rotax Max Heavy).

After strong performances in the opening two Pro Tour rounds in Canberra and Melbourne, Saller admits his debut overseas race will be something to remember.

“To be representing Australia for the first time internationally is something I’m really excited for, the experience is one that should definitely help my career,” said Saller.

New Zealand has long been renowned for producing good drivers to match it with Australia’s best, and that’s one thing Michael will be constantly reminded of.

“I’m hoping to mix it with New Zealand’s best and walk away with a good result,” admitted Saller.

Without external support, the 16 year old affirms that the opportunity would not have been possible.

“I’d like to pass on a huge thanks to my Dad, Troy Farley Race Engines, MSP Shopfittings and Xzuit for helping me get to and participate in the event,” Saller concluded.

The Trans-Tasman Challenge will form part of Round 1 of the 2013 YOGG NZ Rotax Max Challenge Series on Saturday 16th February at Manawatu Raceway, Palmerston North, New Zealand.
