Clubman Light has long been recognised for producing respected Australian drivers Mark Winterbottom, Steve Owen and Darren Hossack, and this in conjunction with a selected campaign in Tag Light will see McLean have a busy calendar of Karting.

A strong supporter base is crucial to success and is something Matthew will place a heavy focus on.

“With the support I will be receiving from Melbourne Kart Centre and Arrow Karts Australia, I'm feeling very confident that I can be a strong contender in the new classes I will be competing in.

“After some positive testing results, I'm excited about kicking off the season this weekend and making my debut in seniors,” McLean added.

While the silly season ramps up in motorsport around Australia, it will prove a crucial time for Matthew and his Karting career.

“This year will be a very busy year for me, having two of my biggest races (Victorian State Titles and the AKA Nationals) within the first two months of my first race of the season,” McLean concluded.

Round 1 of the Victorian Karting Series will occur at the Geelong Karting Complex on Saturday and Sunday 16th and 17th February.
