Injury Sidelines Sera

David Sera has been forced to withdraw from Australia’s team of drivers competing in next month’s CIK-FIA Winter Cup in Italy.
The 17-time Australian Champion suffered a wrist injury while playing indoor soccer last July that continually troubled him for the second half of 2014.
After seeking further medical advice in December Sera has spent the past six weeks with his right arm in a cast and was expected to make a full recovery in time for next month’s event.

However, following further examination last week it was established that his wrist has not healed as expected and he will require an operation this week followed by a further 10-12 weeks of rehabilitation.
Understandably, Sera is shattered about the lost opportunity to represent his Country on the World stage.
“I’m gutted, I was so excited about representing Australia and getting back to Europe to take on the best in the world in the green and gold,” said Sera.
“The opportunity to drive under the Team Australia banner in the Ricciardo Karts team was set to be an amazing experience and I wish the other guys who are going all the best.
“My focus now is going to be to make sure I’m fully fit for the opening round of the Australian Kart Championship on my home track at Todd Road in early April.”
Team Australia will be represented at the February 20-22 event in South Garda by 2014 Australian KF2 Champion Troy Loeskow and 2013 KF2 and KF3 Champions Matthew Waters and Liam McLellan.
