  • Seems kart theives are getting more daring... low lifes stole Junior National Light racer Luke van Herwaarde's kart from the Lismore track during the Lismore Young Guns event on the weekend. The kart went missing some time between 6pm on Saturday the 11th and 7am on Sunday the 12th of April. It meant young Luke was not able to race the Final and, sadly, he's now without a drive at all. The kart is an Arrow X3 junior kart, chassis number A22383. It was fitted with a brand new IAME KA100, number N38AU87. The theft has been reported to NSW Police in Lismore and anybody with information should contact Luke's dad, David, on 0415 753 554.

  • Launceston Kart Club will  hold its annual McDonalds Young Guns race this weekend. The club has been fortunate to have such a valued long-term supporter, this being the 18th year of McDonald's sponsorship of the event - promo clip below. The race, which features a random grid draw, is open to all juniors at a 'middle' weight. This year the LKC has decided to award winners using the IAME Reed Jet and the older Yamaha J. The event is also the third round of the State Wide Series as well as the Launceston Kart Club's titles.

Praga was closest challenger, 16 points behind, with Tony Kart a further 4 points back in third. More on Kartsport New Zealand HERE.

  • A new Spanish kart has been launched and will soon hit the market. Tkart report the EKR chassis is the project of Martinez Hernandez, a former driver who enjoyed success in karting and various forms of car racing. The new EKR karts and components will be officially presented with a team of drivers, industry operators and representatives of the Spanish Federation some time soon.
