  • This is taking shape in Melbourne - new Evo chassis by Woodgate Racing...

  • Pucka is back in business! The popular Victorian circuit has been fully resurfaced, which included new sub-base. Mother nature even gave it a wash for its grand re-opening. The fourth round of the Victorian Kart Championship takes place at the venue on 19 to 21 June.

  • Justin Ruggier has announced he'll be racing this 250cc Superkart at the Australian Championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park on July 3-5. Ruggier says the kart will receive new aero kit prior to the round.

  • Steven Richards posted this new Formula K kart on Facebook on the weekend, just waiting for a seat to be fitted. Richo reckons he's got the kart mainly for some casual fun, but hasn't ruled out the occassional club day race meet. His son Clay is already a regular racer in Junior National.

  • The annual Rock Island Grand Prix will not have qualifying this year, organisers scrapping the idea in favour of extra races for the competitors. Heat races will award points for finishing position as well as 'Passing Points' for positions gained to determine grids for the final. “This format puts more emphasis on rewarding drivers with well-rounded racing skills, not just the ability to go fast,” said Rock Island Grand Prix president, Roger Ruthhart.

Now in its third decade, this years event on September 5-6 will have vintage karts run as a regular category, instead of just an exhibition. Tentative Vintage classes are: 1) Open class 100cc foreign, 120cc, 130cc; 2) 100cc/120cc fan-cooled American; 3) Rear engine karts and "participation" drivers (who want to be there but not really race).

  • Entries for the next round of the Victorian Kart Championship (next weekend, May 15-17, at Oakleigh) close tomorrow, Monday the 11th. Supp Regs HERE.

  • Front wheel drive with independant suspension at all four corners - bit beyond what a kart should be, but impressive engineering nonetheless! It was built by Team BMR (BTCC and Renault UK Clio Cup team) and revealed at the BMR Touring Kart series / Motor Sport Academy launch at Thruxton on the weekend.
